In the mid-80s, Wiltshire-based punk bands Subhumans, Organised Chaos and AHeads all called it a day and members of each got together to create Culture Shock, who brought a refreshing original blend of reggae-driven bass, roller-coasting drums and punked up ska guitar to an alternative scene that welcomed their original combination of danceable tunes and socially aware lyrics. Two hundred gigs and three albums later, they called it a day.

Twenty-three years on in 2012 – following the release of their ‘Everything‘ CD box set, and with fans continually asking to hear the songs live again – previous members Dick, Jasper and Bill got together with Alex on guitar – carrying on the spirit of Nige, who sadly passed on in ’93 – and carried on where they left off.

With 3 more albums (‘Attention Span‘, ‘Humanity Show‘ and last year’s ‘Mandemic‘) and a consistent trail of sold-out gigs, including a US tour with World Inferno Friendship Society and several UK festivals Culture Shock remain a force to be reckoned with.

Last Tree Squad is a fully live 9 piece reggae/hip hop collective with influences from jungle to jazz, with elements of dub, dancehall and grime. Blazing performances have seen them grace the stages of festivals such as Rebellion Festival, Feral Fest and Boomtown.

After a review in vive le rock magazine Last Tree Squad were described as a cross between the specials and public enemy, which is a good starting point. Their hard hitting political and conscious lyrics along with tight performance makes them a must see.

Plus DJ to keep the vibe going between bands and into the night.

As it’s Friday, Lost ARC wood-fired pizza will be available before the gig and until 9pm. Booking essential.
