06/10/2018 - Soothsayers. Afro-Dub-Reggae-Roots-Funk.
Soothsayers are on tour this October in the UK to celebrate the release of their new album 'TRADITION' and we are really excited to welcome them to mid-Wales with a show at The Lost ARC!
Their famously fiery live show will incorporate new material from their uplifting, dance-inducing, politically charged head-nodder of an album, inviting their audiences to join them in an afro beat and dub-fuelled life affirming party.
Support will come from Lost ARC favourites DuBious and D-Selekta of Skarumba Hi-Fi / Fat Cat Sound, with a bit of live sax thrown in for good measure!
Tickets from www.thelostarc.co.uk. £8adv / £10 on the door.
We are grateful to Noson Allan - Night Out for their support for this event.
Championed by DJs such as Craig Charles, David Rodigan and Gideon Coe, 'Tradition' comes at a time when Soothsayers’ music and political message couldn’t be any more needed.
The album is a spiritual journey from start to finish, from the elated and mystical atmosphere of the opening title track, through to the 70’s psychedelic guitars and triumphant horns of the closer ‘Natural Mystic’.
It's an audial representation of the flavours, sights and sounds of South London.
Whilst challenging the audience to think a little about some of the more urgent social issues of our time in songs like “Sleepwalking (Black Man’s Cry)” and the debut single “Dis & Dat”, the album and live show deliver a positively uplifting punch. Tracks like “Good Vibration” and “Nothing Can Stop Us” deliver pure, unadulterated joy whilst “Overcome” and “Take Me High” celebrate the depth of the irrepressible human spirit.
Soothsayers will rock you hard and remind you that life, love and music are things worth celebrating. -
