Cory Seznec is a musical wanderer and uncertified ethnomusicologist. A chance encounter while busking in Bath planted the seeds of a collaboration that’s been fermenting now for over a decade. \n\n\n\n Touki means “journey” in Wolof\, Diagne’s mother tongue. Their music focuses on climate change\, environmental activism and spiritual matters — drawing together West African fables\, personal stories and the social\, economic and political challenges facing both developing countries and western ones. This is music that asks ecological\, spiritual\, and political questions. \n\n\n\nTouki’s sound infuses East and West African styles and traditions with Appalachian banjo\, folk motifs\, and orchestral arrangements. Diagne’s powerful percussion\, Seznec’s syncopated guitar-picking and rapid-fire banjo-frailing and on the road\, Touki tour as a trio with American accordionist virtuoso Michael Ward-Bergeman. Michael’s strong bonds with Cory were forged two decades ago as founding members of the band Groanbox\, when they first met Amadou. \n\n\n\nAs they sail through the cross currents of our complex world\, Touki understands that the musical voyage itself is the destination. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event will be mostly SEATED. Nobody on earth sounds like Khamira. \n\n\n\n Musicians from Wales and  India create Improvised World Music – mixing Hindustani Classical music and Welsh folk music with jazz. Unique\, alive\, groundbreaking. The Sarangi sings with the trumpet\, the tabla dances with the drums while the guitar soars over the bass. Miles Davis\, Hindustani classical\, Llio Rhydderch\, Pat Metheny\, Sufi singing\, Welsh folk\, Shakti\, konnakol\, rock\, Tomas Stanko\, jazz\, it’s all in there. Their music contains multitudes and transcends continents… Come with us on our journey! \n\n\n\n​Khamira first came together in 2015\, touring India playing The Goa Jazz Festival\, Kolkata JazzFest\, Bangalore and New Delhi. They self-released their eponymous debut album in 2017\, and their second album Undod/Unity was released by Tŷ Cerdd in 2022. Both albums received widespread acclaim and signalled the arrival and the maturing of an important new musical voice. \n\n\n\n​Khamira return to The Lost ARC for the third time on Friday October 17th 2025 after previous visits on their 2022 and 2023 tours of Wales. Anyone who was at those gigs can attest to the incredible musicianship on show and the power of the collaboration across cultures. \n\n\n\nKhamira’s music is somewhere between the cinematic scope of the Pat Metheny Group and the grunge funk of Miles Davis’ 70s band\, inter-twinned with passages of melancholic Welsh folk music and Indian classical virtuosity. \n\n\n\n\n​“Blurring the edges of genres and cultures here feels entirely organic… fifty-five minutes of extensive\, instrumental splendour” \n\n\n\n – AP Reviews  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event will be  SEATED. TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE ON THE DOOR. \n\n\n\nIt’s been a few years since we had a proper Halloween party at The Lost ARC\, but this year we really mean it!  \n\n\n\nFancy dress and dancing shoes required for a full-on knees up with live music from Cartoon Violence and spooktacular vinyl selections from DJ Billy Flux! \n\n\n\nCartoon Violence bring irresistibly bouncy ska grooves mixed with BritPop flair (think The Kinks\, Madness\, Squeeze and Blur at their cheeky best!). Their organ-driven sound is an insanely catchy affair that mixes  2 tone ska with distinctly British sounding pop & indie stylings. Their songs capture the classic Brit Pop storytelling vibe with each tune lyrically being like a mini kitchen sink drama in its own right! Endless soaring energy\, great sing-a-long choruses & wonderful piano melodies are all hallmarks of the band’s unique sound. The band have toured extensively around the UK\, sharing stages with the likes of Toots & The Maytals\, Roddy Radiation & The Toasters along the way! \n\n\n\nDJ Billy Flux will be on-hand all night with an eclectic and spooky mix of exotica\, garage punk\, ska and cinematic vinyl rarities\, moving into danceable grooves to keep things moving as the night progresses.     \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Unbelievable! THERE IS STILL SPACE TO ATTEND BY BUYING ON THE DOOR. \n\n\n\nWith their high energy approach to traditional American songs and dance music\, Interstate Express combines a love of old stories with a passion for the joy of a fiddle tune that drives like a Mercedes on the open road. \n\n\n\nThe music that developed in America is as diverse as the people who brought it there\, from fast banjo and fiddle tunes and early country songs to blues and ballads\, this trio plays it all and are as comfortable on a festival stage as a sweaty bar. \n\n\n\nThe band was formed on a long drive from Tennessee to New Orleans and is the newest project of fiddler and singer Craig Judelman\, who has learned from and performed with some of the great traditional musicians of the last generations. Currently based in Berlin\, he is bringing this legacy to European audiences\, telling stories and sharing his American culture that goes much deeper than fast food and baseball. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event will be mixed SEATED and  STANDING to allow for some dancing.
