DESCRIPTION:On line sales for this event have closed. There will be availability on the door on a first come basis. \n\n\n\nPunk poet\, latterly dub poet\, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Attila the Stockbroker exploded into public consciousness in 1982-3 via two John Peel sessions and a Melody Maker front cover and he is now celebrating forty years earning a living doing what he loves.  \n\n\n\nSo far: 4000 gigs in 24 countries\, some 20 CD/s LPs\, eight books of poems\, his autobiography ‘Arguments Yard’ (Cherry Red Books \, 2015) and his collected works ‘Heart on my Sleeve’ (2021). His latest album is a dub poetry collection ’40 Years In Rhyme’ with rhythms from Kingsley Salmon and What’s Left Dub\, and his previous one\, 2018’s ‘Restoration Tragedy’ combines early music and punk – a lifelong ambition – with tales of the English Revolution of 1649. An output best described as eclectic.  \n\n\n\nAttila’s current performance comprises spoken word\, dub poetry\, acoustic songs\, a bit of early music on ancient instruments…and\, in Wales\, a smidgeon of Welsh. He’s just written his first poem in it\, ‘Cerdd i David’\, a tribute to his late friend Dave Datblygu. Thereby hangs a tale. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn the mid Eighties Attila met up with\, gigged with and befriended Welsh language punk pioneers Anhrefn and Datblygu and organised their first ever gigs in England. He has had links with the scene ever since\, has done countless gigs all over Wales\, and as a keen linguist he has for years now acquired bits of Welsh from road and shop signs and the brilliant lyrics of his friend David R Edwards\, poet and leader of Datblygu. David sadly died during lockdown\, and as a tribute to him Attila has decided to start a project called Dim Google Translate. During his gigs in Wales he’s going to try and pick up as much of the language as possible without recourse to the aforementioned app. \n\n\n\nHen bardd pwnk Saisneg gyda hiraeth ar gyfer geriau newydd yn Cymraeg. They perform traditional and contemporary folk songs interspersed with lively Irish tunes played with passion and virtuosity. They are Val Marciandi and Keith Whiddon –  Val’s beautiful voice accompanied by Keith’s unique bouzouki style. The name ‘BouZaTina’ is a combination of their main instruments: Bouzouki and Concertina. \n\n\n\nCombining harmonies and an array of instruments\, John and Lynne Ward have been making music together for over a decade\, playing all over the UK and beyond. The husband and wife duo combine guitar\, bodhrán\, accordion\, harmonica and recorder to perform John’s acclaimed songs from his extensive catalogue\, together with some well-chosen folk classics. Their performances are entertaining\, relaxed\, thought-provoking and from the heart\, which has earned them a fine reputation and great reviews. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis gig will be mixed seated and standing.  \n\n\n\nAs this gig falls on a Friday there will be wood-fired pizza available from 5-9pm. The band were heavily involved in alternative and DIY underground culture in the UK during the 1990s as well as being purveyors of the finest Roots Reggae music throughout this period. \n\n\n\nOne of the most unique and enjoyable live dub acts on the planet\, their use of dynamic onstage dub mixing whilst performing alongside acoustic instruments and exceptional vocalists make Zion Train one of a kind. \n\n\n\nThey perform headline slots at gigs and festivals world-wide\, and have sold out The Lost ARC quickly on previous visits! \n\n\n\nSupport from rising star Ez Dickens with her full band and Skarumba Hifi who will be bringing their full\, heavy-weight sound for the whole weekend with resident selectors Dubios and D-Selekta\, plus special guests. \n\n\n\nThis event will be unreserved STANDING. In constant demand and having played just about every festival and two-bit\, jibe-arsed dive in Christendom\, Mad Dog Mcrea are\, in every sense of the word\, a live\, band. \n\n\n\nSupport comes in the form of the 14-strong Hay Shantymen\, who despite residing in land-locked Hay on Wye provide rousing songs of the sea which will surely carry downriver to reach the open water. \n\n\n\nThis event will be unreserved STANDING.
