January 11 @ 7:30 pm – 11:00 pm
Home Grown! is our bi-monthly series of gigs showcasing the incredible original music acts from our local area.
Each event hosts 3 unique acts, with all the door money going directly to the musicians, so support your local live music scene and come and check out what’s on offer!
On Saturday 11th Jan we have…
The Ellevanses, Marc Harpham and John Hughes (The Singing Farmer).
THE ELLEVANSES are Ellie Visagie and Bob Evans – regular crowd-pleasers at our open mic nights (and many others all over the area). Their charming and flamboyant stage presence and oft tongue-in-cheek songwriting always entertain as they play to their tag line of ‘effervescent, eclectic and electric’.
MARC HARPHAM is a smooth-voiced singer-songwriter based in Llanidloes who can often be found on local stages both solo and with his duo The Rock Ewes playing popular covers. His beautiful original songs will be the main feature here, and are sure to go down a treat.
JOHN HUGHES picked up a guitar again at the age of 50, when he reformed a childhood band for his birthday. Since then he hasn’t looked back with videos of ‘The Singing Farmer’ hitting viral status, a high profile appearance or 2 on ‘Welcome To Wrexham’ on Disney+ where his music is featured, and tons of gigs! His poignant and witty original songs resonate with many people as he continues to share them with the world from his farm in Meifod.
This gig will be mixed seating and standing room. £5 advance, £7 on the door.
