September 26 @ 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm
Exploding Cinema returns to The Lost ARC on Saturday 26th September!
Join us for a night of independent and democratised creativity! All welcome both to watch or participate!
Regardless of subject matter, taste or filmmaking ability – whatever the genre, style or format – as long as it’s under 20 minutes long Exploding Cinema will show it! Last time they joined us we had some incredible short films on display from independent film-makers, including some great local talent… And these guys really don’t hold back, there were projectors everywhere inside and out, with light shows and visual art displays throwing The Lost ARC into a whole new dimension with lots to explore away from the big screen!
The night is a celebration of creativity, not stuffy and formal. Audience feedback is encouraged and everything is welcome – it’s a bit like an open mic for film-makers!
Exploding Cinema is a screening collective that emerged from the underground art squat scene in 1991. Self organised, Exploding Cinema runs open access nights of short film, underground cinema, artists moving image and performance art. Active constantly since 1991, Exploding Cinema regularly screens underground film in squats, pubs, clubs, cafes and halls across the UK and around the world. Fighting against industry elitism, they have shown more than five thousand low or no budget films/videos, and staged shows in disused factories, office blocks, circus tents, churches and in the deep end of a squatted Lido. We are radically anti-curatorial – at Exploding Cinema anyone can screen their film, anyone can join the collective.
CALLING ALL FILM-MAKERS!..
Do you make short films? Made one already?.. Drama, music video, documentary, animation, comedy or hardware shop advert?? We’d love to show your film on the night! Submit your film via the Exploding Cinema website here, with “Lost ARC” or “Rhayader” added to the “Film Title” box (put the title in there, too!) and as long as it’s under 20 minutes long, we’ll do our best to get it on the big screen on 26th September. Contributing film-makers get free entry for themselves and a friend!
