The Dave Cottle Trio and Sarah Meek perform the great songs from the swing era, as recorded and performed by Louis Armstrong & Ella Fitzgerald, including the swinging duets they recorded with the Oscar Peterson Quartet PLUS Other Musical delights… Their own arrangements & new twists, along with original songs in the style of Louis and Ella.

Dave Cottle is a vastly experienced professional musician with a wealth of musical experience. Since 1995, Dave has been the resident house pianist at SWANSEA JAZZ CLUB (The UK’s longest running weekly Jazz Club, founded 1949 ). He and his trio have accompanied 100’s of Jazz artists from all over the world & is adept at playing many different styles of music. Dave has been Artistic Director at Swansea Jazz since 1995, arranging the weekly programme of events PLUS all the events at the annual SWANSEA INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL that Dave founded in 2014.
The Louis & Ella Show gives Dave an opportunity to showcase his mastery of playing Trumpet and Piano at the same time(!) in homage to two of his most influential Jazz Musicians, Louis Armstrong & Oscar Peterson. Dave also adds vocals to the set.
Since her graduation from Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a Masters Degree in Jazz Vocals SARAH MEEK has firmly established herself as a fine jazz & session vocalist with an engaging stage presence & personality. Sarah also plays piano and guitar and is Musical Director of the ACCORDIA Choir based in Cardiff.
The Show is always performed with great humour and engagement with the audience, & has regularly sold out festivals, clubs & Concerts around the UK.
Doors open 7pm.
