“Simply Breathtaking.” – The Guardian
Tomorrow We Sail is a group of seven musicians, formed in Leeds in 2009. Their formative years were spent developing their sound into what became a rolling landscape of billowing, reverb-soaked guitars, orchestral strings, piano, organ and multi-layered group harmonies. Tomorrow We Sail create music that combines elements of folk, post-rock, neo-classicism and ambience whilst simultaneously defying simple comparisons.
The band’s debut album, ‘For Those Who Caught The Sun In Flight’, was released on Gizeh Records in 2014. Following its release and tours across the UK and Europe in support of the album, Tomorrow We Sail began exploring their diverse range of musical interests and seeking out new collaborations; including the 19 minute, ambient, spoken-word piece ‘Saturn’, with poet and occultist Alexander Cummins, and ‘The Harbour’, an instrumental composition commissioned by the Groninger Museum in Groningen, Netherlands.
In 2017 they released their second full-length album: ‘The Shadows’. Building on their debut release, this album combined the soaring atmospherics, gorgeously intertwined vocals harmonies and dramatic shifts in tone and dynamics that characterises their sound. Urgent yet assured, ‘The Shadows’ demands your attention.
Since this second album the band have been busy living their respective lives, until deciding to reform once more for a short series of shows to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut album, including this date at The Lost ARC in Rhayader, now ‘home’ for some of the band.
