Home Grown! is a brand new, regular night of original live music from our local area. In an effort to boost and maintain the great music scene we have in Mid Wales we are giving a new and dedicated platform to home grown talent. The night will have a different lineup of 3 acts every other month, with all door money going straight to the musicians involved in creating great new music locally.
On 13th July we welcome Mascot Moth, Mother Thunder and Scethrog.
Mascot Moth is an experimental psychedelic collective from Llanfyllin, featuring members of Strap The Button, Twmffat and Z-Machine.
Hailing from Wales and having a connection to Strap the Button Mascot Moth stand broadly in the Psychedelic corner but also manage to stray into various other camps at the same time. Full of brilliant surprises, gear changes, experimentation, and great energy.
Singles ‘Treiglad Meddwl’ and ‘Y Twll’ from forthcoming Welsh language album, ‘Nol i Annwfn,’ have recently featured on Adam Walton’s show on BBC Radio Wales and have also been played by Georgia Ruth on Radio Cymru.
Mother Thunder are a high octane, raw and pure hard rock band. Influenced by giants like Thin Lizzy, Guns N Roses, Van Halen, Whitesnake and the The Cult to name a few, they have but one goal: To keep it old school. A pure and real sound with no additives or fakery.
Their first single ‘Standing Free’ released May 24th, is a statement of the band’s drive for keeping the spirit of 70s and 80s hard rock alive!
Scethrog are an ‘acoustic(ish)’ guitar duo with a big mix of styles in the songs they write, which range from melodic mythical ballads to viking battle chants! Steve and Dave have both hosted the Lost Arc Open Mic and also both perform with local legends of rock ‘Out of Order’.
Doors 7.30pm. Tickets £5 in advance, £7 on the door. The show will be mixed standing/seated.
Join us and support our local live music scene and the fantastic artists that share our Mid Wales home!
